Mammography
Whether it's time for your annual mammogram or if your doctor sends you in for a diagnostic mammogram, our medical imaging center will perform a thorough scan. This exam is generally recommended annually for women over the age of 40, although it's established that proactive screening even earlier might be recommended for certain women.
3D mammograms (Tomosynthesis)
3D mammograms are the gold standard for mammography. The breast is compressed under a paddle as images are taken of the breast. Unlike 2D mammography, True Breast Tomosynthesis takes X-ray pictures of each breast from many angles that are not available in traditional mammography. The result is a clearer image that helps us look inside the breast layer by layer to find tumors better than standard 2D mammography alone, with fewer recalls.
2D Digital Mammograms
2D Mammograms may be performed for screening or diagnostic purposes. Screenings involve producing images of both breasts in order to detect any tumors that cannot yet be felt under the skin. This procedure targets a specific area of the breast and takes more detailed images from many different angles.
