CT (Computed Tomography) Scan
Computed Tomography (CT), commonly referred to as a CAT scan, is a painless diagnostic imaging study that uses a combination of X-rays and computer technology to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
The test is designed to obtain the maximum amount of information with the least amount of radiation. CT scans produce more detailed images of internal organs and body structures than regular X-rays.
In some cases, IV contrast and/or oral contrast (barium) may be ordered by your physician to highlight certain organs and structures in the body. If you have a history of kidney disease, kidney failure, kidney transplant, or other conditions, you must inform us before receiving the contrast.
